Surrogate modeling of time-dependent metocean conditions during hurricanes

چکیده
Metocean conditions during hurricanes are defined by multiple parameters (e.g., significant wave height and surge height) that vary in time with auto- cross-correlation. In many cases, the nature of variation these characteristics is important to design assess risk offshore structures, but a persistent problem measurements sparse history simulations using metocean models computationally onerous. Surrogate modeling an appealing approach ease computational burden modeling; however, time-dependency surrogate challenging because at one instant dependent on not only also previous instances. this paper, time-dependent height, peak period, direction, storm explored database site. Three types models, including Kriging, multilayer perceptron (MLP), recurrent neural network gated unit (RNN-GRU), evaluated, two different structures considered for Kriging model training set sizes MLP model, resulting total five evaluated paper. The performance compared terms accuracy sensitivity toward hyperparameters, RNN-GRU demonstrated have extraordinary prediction context.

Modeling the Time-Dependent Rheological Properties of Pistachio Butter
Pistachio butter (semi solid paste), which is made from roasted pistachio kernels, is an appropriate alternative to work on because of its high nutritional and economical values. In this study, timedependent flow properties of pistachio butter were determined at two different temperatures (25˚C and 45˚C) for five different formulations (with different levels of emulsifying agents). Forward a...

This paper suggests a Resource Description Framework (RDF) model for effective handling of distributed data relating to the Semantic Web. RDF is a data model that integrates aptly structured data. The World Wide Web is facing great challenges in data retrieval as a result of increase and request of knowledge from different sources. This brings the issue of information overload. Therefore, in mi...

Before we apply nonlinear techniques, for example those inspired by chaos theory, to dynamical phenomena occurring in nature, it is necessary to rst ask if the use of such advanced techniques is justiied by the data. While many processes in nature seem very unlikely a priori to be linear, the possible nonlinear nature might not be evident in speciic aspects of their dynamics. The method of surr...
متن کاملModeling Time-Dependent Behavior of Concrete Affected by Alkali Silica Reaction in Variable Environmental Conditions
Alkali Silica Reaction (ASR) is known to be a serious problem for concrete worldwide, especially in high humidity and high temperature regions. ASR is a slow process that develops over years to decades and it is influenced by changes in environmental and loading conditions of the structure. The problem becomes even more complicated if one recognizes that other phenomena like creep and shrinkage...

of the ordinary differential equation which occurs in the boundary condition. An exact nonreflecting boundary condition was derived previously for use with the time dependent wave equation in three Finally, we shall solve a sequence of scattering problems space dimensions. Here it is shown how to combine that boundary by using an explicit finite difference method and our condition with finite d...
